Great days in Melbourne - part 3 (1st of May)

1st of May, AC/DC Lane in Melbourne, Great Rock from OZ and the States, a lot of money for the beer in the pocket, around 300 great people... Could it be better??? No!!!

The location: The small AC/DC Lane in the CBD of Melbourne.

The party started at 11am and ended at "we can´t remember"

The first highlight were four sister from a village near Melbourne that played in the band Stonefield:

Halftime...

Another highlight was the band 6FtHick from Brisbane. This band was just crazy!

And somehow all the girls run wild after a while. And it was not the music!

Party!!! It was as always very easy to find a lot of friendly people to have a drink with!

 Not everything must be posted!

Great days in Melbourne - part II

Jo is happy on the jetty of St. Kilda

What a wonderful day!

Except the fact that we stayed in Coburg!

Jo could only puke, but it didn't help... Coburg is really a district of Melbourne!

After a great dinner in the Veggie Bar in Brunswick we made our way to the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground). We watched the AFL Football match Richmond Tigers against the Brisbane Lions. After 5 mins we turned into real Tiger-fans! Come on Tigs, come on!!!!

Here one goal of the Tigers:

Eventhough we didn't really understand the rules, the atmosphere was great. Fans of both teams were sitting peacefully side by side, shouting for their team. By the way, you could choose any seet you like.
Compared to our experiences from the German Bundesliga, this was completely different and somehow better...

After 2 hours of really entertaining football, the Tigers won!! And we were in the Tigerland :-)

Sitting in the tram back to Coburg a friendly Melbourne girl asked us for our camera and took this picture. The funny thing was that we met her again the next day. (By the way: Eva was wearing her glasses to have a better view on the well trained football players in short shorts!)

Great days in Melbourne - part I

On our way to Melbourne...

On our first day in Melbourne we took the historical City Circle Tram to get a first impression of the most important city sights.

The Melbourne Cricket Ground

The royal botanic garden was very beautiful! Like a small oasis in the heart of the city.

Narawntapu National Park - our last day in Tassie

Attack on the camera man

Dancing Queen!

Wampen-king or Wombat

Farting wombat... now it's time to leave Tasmania:

Tassie - Eastern and Launceston

What's that?

We tried to bake a easter-apple-pear-coconut-streußel-cake...but the fire was too hot ;-)
At least we had a second chance and it worked out! (But we can't proof it, because we made no pictures)

The easter bunny brought Eva a lot of eggs. Unfortunately she was a little bit ill over the easter days.

After easter we went to the third oldest town of Australia, which is Launceston. There we visited the family Hommel.

View over Launceston

Eva: "Was war denn da eigentlich?" Jo: "keine Ahnung. Lass es drin."

Our awesome hosts Kirsty, Elliot...

...and Daniel. At this point, we want to say THANK YOU again for the great hospitality, the mega-monster comfortable matress, the vegan cookies, all the tips for Sydney and Melbourne, the surf suit and much more...

Casa del Hommels

Only a few walking minutes away from the Casa del Hommels was the Cataract Gorge.

...looks a little bit like Germany :-)

Brandnew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello together!
As all posts are 1,5 month behind our actual trip we post a video from today. We are at the moment in Boonah Queensland - The sunshine state:

Cradle Mountain - Lake St. Clair NP (world heritage area) - part II

On the next day we were waling to the Lake Will. Here one picture with the view of the Barn Bluff.

Pencil Pines at the Lake Will.

This was the Waterfall Valley Hut.

The vegetation is gigantic!

Barn Bluff with a sign of the Overland Track

On our last day we were on the other side of the Cradle Mountain. This picture was taken just after dawn.

Impossible in Germany. This was a sign in the Scott Kilvert Memorial Hut where we where sleeping on our third night.

Eva on our way back.

Autumn impressions...

Cradle Mountain - Lake St. Clair NP (world heritage area) - part I

On the first day of our bush walking trip we were following a part of the famous Overland Track. What to say: It was breathtaking and the three day´s were definitely a highlight of our world trip.

Here you can see the Cradle Mountain.

This was inside the Waterfall Valley hut we were sleeping in the first night. A very nice and tidy place with people from everywhere in the world.

View of the Barn Bluff. This is second highest Mountain in Tasmania. To climb up this Mountain was our target for the second day.

This was on our way up to the Barn Bluff. We had a wonderful view of the Cradle Mountain.

To reach the top of the Barn Bluff we had to climb a little bit. But the rock formations were very impressive!

At around 1200m we found some baby grasshoppers.

We believe that they were only a few days old.

This is a view from the top of the Barn Bluff...

A view over the Lake Will. We went there the next day.

Here a 360° view from the Barn Bluff:
