Barbecue on the coals

On our way to Alice Springs we found a nice camp spot in the bush and had an awesome barbecue on the coals.

Corn, meat, halumi and veggies...

Yummy!

Katherine Gorge National Park

Although it was quite a touristic place, the Katherine Gorge was beautiful

Kakadu National Park IV - Gunlom Falls

Eva had a bad summer flu and had to rest in the shade. Jo and Conny went to the Gunlom Falls meanwhile.

Jo took a bath in one of the refreshing pools up there.

Eva felt already better in the afternoon

Back in the Kakadu NP during our little afternoon walk there was apparently a dangerous 4WD Track somewhere ;-)

What was the name of the Lookout again??

Kakadu National Park I

End of September we picked up Joram's mum Conny in Darwin. Our first destination was the famous Kakadu National Park. This was also the first time for us that we saw Aboriginal rock art.

The view from this plateau near Ubir was fantastic! We also enjoyed the Ranger Talk and the nice sunset!

Oral hygiene is important in the bush :-)

Secret camp spot in Darwin

After a few nights on much too expensive caravan parks, we found a nice bush camp spot in the northern district of Darwin (near Lee Point). We stayed there several nights and saved a lot of money.

Corroboree Billabong III - water lillies

The Aboriginal people used to eat the seeds of the water lillies, so we tried a few... they tasted actually not too bad and reminded us to corn.
At this point we want to say thank you again to Jo, Pete and Emma, who took us to this boat tour and thank you so much for those awesome pictures!!!
