The first two days - Townsville, Couchsurfing and Billabong Reserve

We were struggeling to squeeze the two into our car. But somehow it worked out. But it was chaotic! ;-)

no comment ;-)

Then we visited the Billabong Reserve that was recommended by our friend Pepper Peter. But to be honest, besides the crocodiles it was not worth to go there because it was just like a zoo. Especially the turtle race was a big bullshit! Sorry Peter. But nevertheless it was a good possibility to spot a Koala.

Not as cute but a good imitation.

Hungry turtle waited to be fed by the visitors.

Ups... one crocodile ate a staff member. The hat seemed to be not so tasty...

No worries, just a freshwater crocodile (freshy). They are harmless to humans. At least they won´t kill us.

But the estuarine crocodile (salty) can kill and eat humans.

The show included a crocodile jumping to get some chicken.

After the billabong, it was time for relaxing at the Townsville City Beach.

Poor Effi!

Thanks to Thorsten's IPhone: a panoramic view of Townsville

What a bed! Thanks to Kathi and Olga we could spend one night couchsurfing in this awesome bed! Olga visited Kathi and Thorsten in Basel and stayed some nights ón their couch. Unfortunately Olga was not in Townsville but her flatmate Kyle was so friendly to let us in the flat!

Can you see the black lion? ;-)

THANK YOU!
