WWOOFing on a date and fig farm

In order to get the second year visa, we had to work another 12 days on a farm. We ended up with WWOOFing (willing workers on organic farms) on a date and fig farm near to Alice Springs. Unfortunately the farm was neither organic nor sustainable and the farmer used the WWOOFing system to get people, who do unpaid work for him. Nevertheless we learned a lot of new things. Eva can drive the tractor now and Jo knows how to prune date trees.

On of our jobs was to load all palm leaves, which were cut and lay on the ground.

The tractor... It looked so old, as it must have survived both world wars.

Sunrise over the date trees. The farmer had around 12000 date trees and 30 different varieties.

Jo in our Smoko (Breakfast break). The kitchen was really disgusting...

Jo, our farmer Tim and Christelle, a french girl who was also WWOOFing there.
