Cradle Mountain - Lake St. Clair NP (world heritage area) - part I

On the first day of our bush walking trip we were following a part of the famous Overland Track. What to say: It was breathtaking and the three day´s were definitely a highlight of our world trip. 

Here you can see the Cradle Mountain. 

This was inside the Waterfall Valley hut we were sleeping in the first night. A very nice and tidy place with people from everywhere in the world.  


View of the Barn Bluff. This is second highest Mountain in Tasmania. To climb up this Mountain was our target for the second day. 

This was on our way up to the Barn Bluff. We had a wonderful view of the Cradle Mountain. 

To reach the top of the Barn Bluff we had to climb a little bit. But the rock formations were very impressive! 

At around 1200m we found some baby grasshoppers. 

We believe that they were only a few days old.
